Privacy Policy - Curvly

Last updated: September 23, 2026

1. Overview

Curvly ("the App") is developed by Definitely Human. This policy explains what data the App collects, why, and who it is shared with. We have written it to describe what the App actually does rather than to cover every theoretical case.

2. What We Never Collect

Your photos and the text you write in your designs stay on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers or to any third party unless you choose to use Curvly AI, and then only the content you submit for that request (see section 4). Editing, Smart Placement suggestions and exporting all happen locally.

We do not operate an account system: there is no sign-up, no login, no email address, and no password. Curvly AI uses an anonymous identifier (see section 4) that is not linked to you as a person.

The App does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), does not track you across other apps or websites, and never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt.

3. Photos and Content

All image editing happens on your device, except Curvly AI requests that you start yourself (see section 4). The App requests access to your photo library only at the moment you choose to import a photo, and requests add-only access when you choose to save an exported image. Camera access is requested only when you choose to take a photo.

Saved projects — your background image, paths, text, and styling — are stored in the App's own storage on your device. Deleting the App deletes them.

4. Curvly AI (Optional)

Curvly AI uses artificial intelligence to create and edit images — for example, turning a description into a background image and laying out your text on it, or editing a photo you choose. It is optional; nothing in this section applies unless you use it.

See Firebase's privacy information.

5. Analytics, Crash Reporting and Attribution

The App uses Mixpanel for product analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting. These help us understand which features are used and find crashes we could not otherwise see.

What is sent:

The text you place on your photos, the descriptions you type into Curvly AI and any photos you submit to it are never included in any event.

Usage events are processed by Mixpanel, Inc. as our service provider, on servers in the United States. Crash reports are processed by Google. See the Mixpanel Privacy Policy, Firebase's privacy information and Google's Privacy Policy.

Versions of the App released before August 2026 used Google Firebase Analytics instead of Mixpanel for the usage events described above.

Apple Ads attribution. On first launch the App asks Apple whether the install came from an Apple Ads campaign. This uses Apple's AdServices framework, works without the Advertising Identifier and returns only campaign-level information (for example the campaign and keyword), which we keep with the analytics data above. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

App configuration (Firebase Remote Config). The App periodically fetches settings such as suggested AI descriptions and feature availability from Firebase. The request includes a Firebase installation identifier, not personal data.

This website also uses Google Analytics to measure page visits.

6. Photo Search (Unsplash)

The App includes an optional photo search powered by Unsplash. This feature is used only if you open it. When you do, your search terms and your device's IP address are sent to Unsplash in order to return results, and Unsplash is notified when you select a photo, as their API requires.

If you never use photo search, the App makes no requests to Unsplash. See the Unsplash Privacy Policy.

7. Purchases and Subscriptions

Curvly Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple. We never see or receive your payment details. The App only learns whether a valid purchase exists, which it stores on your device.

Curvly Pro (one-time purchase) and Curvly AI (weekly or monthly auto-renewing subscription) are purchased through Apple. To unlock and manage them we use RevenueCat, which receives the purchase receipt from Apple and links it to the anonymous identifier described in section 4, so that your Pro features and AI credits can be granted and renewed. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address or payment details. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

8. Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores a small amount of information locally, which is never transmitted: whether you have seen the introduction, whether you own Pro, a copy of your remaining Curvly AI credits as last reported by our server, and a counter used to decide when to ask you for an App Store rating.

9. Your Choices

You can revoke photo library or camera access at any time in iOS Settings; the App will continue to work with the features that do not need them. Deleting the App removes all locally stored projects and settings. To request deletion of analytics data or of the anonymous Curvly AI record associated with your installation, contact us and we will delete our record and pass the request to Mixpanel, Google and RevenueCat.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. It does not ask for or knowingly collect personal information from children. The analytics described in section 5 measure app usage only and are not used to build advertising profiles.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be noted in the App or on our website.

The September 2026 update added Curvly AI, subscriptions, Apple Ads attribution and Remote Config, and replaced Firebase Analytics with Mixpanel. A later September 2026 revision describes Curvly AI's service providers in general terms and covers AI features that work on a photo you choose.
