In short: no sign-up and no email. Photos, prompts and comments you share are public with your username, are processed by Google's AI to create and check edits, and are never sold. Tracking for ads only happens if you allow it.

1. Overview

This policy explains what Community Art ("the App"), made by Definitely Human, collects, why, and who it is shared with. It describes what the App actually does.

2. What we collect

  • Account: an anonymous identifier and a generated username. If you link Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple identifier only; we don't receive or show your name or email address.
  • Content: photos you upload (with location and other metadata removed), the request you add, prompts, edits, votes on edits and comments, likes and dislikes on comments, and reports you file.
  • Purchases: records of your credit pack purchases and your credit balance.
  • Device and usage: a push notification token if you allow notifications, app usage events, approximate location (city and country) derived from your IP address, and device identifiers described in section 5.
  • Device verification: Apple App Attest and DeviceCheck signals that confirm requests come from a genuine copy of the App and that welcome credits are granted once per device. They contain no personal information.

3. How we use your data

To run the service and show your content to the community, create the edits you and others request, keep your credit balance, prevent abuse (including automated moderation of photos and text, and review of reports), send the notifications you allowed, measure which ads bring people to the App, and understand how the App is used so we can improve it. We do not sell your personal data.

4. AI processing

When you or another user requests an edit, the photo being edited and the prompt are sent to Google's Gemini models on Google Cloud (Vertex AI). Uploaded photos and AI results are checked with Google Cloud Vision, and prompts, requests and comments with a Gemini text model, to keep objectionable content out.

Google processes this content as our service provider only to produce results and run these checks, and does not use it to train its models. You give explicit permission for this processing when you accept the community rules in the App.

5. Analytics and advertising attribution

Mixpanel receives usage events (for example: the App opened, an edit started or finished, the credit store opened, a purchase completed, an edit saved or shared) linked to an identifier created for your installation. Events record that an action happened, not the contents of your photos, prompts or comments.

RevenueCat receives Apple Ads attribution from Apple's AdServices framework, which works without tracking, plus your device's vendor identifier and IP address. Only if you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt does it also receive the Advertising Identifier (IDFA). We use this to measure our own advertising campaigns. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

6. Purchases

Credit packs are purchased through Apple. We never see or receive your payment details. RevenueCat receives the purchase from Apple so that we can add the credits to your balance.

7. What other users can see

Photos, requests, edits, prompts, vote counts and comments are visible to everyone in the App together with your generated username.

8. Service providers

  • Google Firebase and Google Cloud — accounts, database, storage, notifications, AI edits and moderation (United States). See Firebase's privacy information.
  • RevenueCat — purchases and advertising attribution. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
  • Mixpanel — product analytics. See the Mixpanel Privacy Policy.
  • Apple — Sign in with Apple, payments, push notifications and Apple Ads attribution. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

9. Retention and deletion

You can delete your edits, comments and the photos nobody has edited at any time, and delete your account from Settings in the App. Deleting your account removes your edits and comments and your profile; photos others have already edited are removed after we review the deletion request.

Reports and moderation records are kept as long as needed to keep the community safe, and purchase records as long as the law requires. Analytics data is kept by Mixpanel according to its retention settings.

10. Your choices and rights

You can turn notifications and tracking on or off in iOS Settings at any time. To access, correct or delete your data, or to object to its processing, contact us through our contact page; we respond within 30 days.

11. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Photos of minors must not be uploaded.

12. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the App changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
